Rainbow Bright

There is a rainbow shining bright,
in a place where day meets the dark dark night,
a place where goodness and love mean more,
than anything that's gone before.

The lovely colours, the glittering strands,
the layers of light almost in your hands.
a bit like life and your dreams so rare,
you know you're near it, you're almost there.

So keep on hoping, use all your guiles,
to help you make your life worthwhile.
believe in rainbows, believe in love,
and most of all, believe in God.
to help you thro' the darkest days,
and to see the rainbow thro' the haze..

PostSubject: Passing   Poetry From SOC Members Icon_minitime06.11.08 22:27

From: bluesangel2002 Sent: 07/07/2003 14:16

Passing

I feel a breath upon my brow.
my spirit friends surround me now.
Cobwebs flutter across my face.
then disappear without a trace.
A kind hand takes mine in its clasp.
to comfort me as I breathe my last.
as friends appear, I see them so clear.
the ones I hold, oh, so dear.
They've come to help me thru' the door.
to the place where I'll be alive once more.
They fill me with love and sweet elation.
with peace and a knowing of my salvation.
As I go forward, floating and free.
to meet my God and my destiny.
And to finally know my reason for living.
The lessons I learnt, and the ones I didn't.
but it matters not as I did my best,
and I know my life was truly blessed.
with love and laughter and joy so deep.
that the memories I will forever keep.
And when it's my loved ones turn to pass.
I'll be there to help them with my loving grasp...

PostSubject: Regaining   Poetry From SOC Members Icon_minitime06.11.08 22:29

From: bluesangel2002 Sent: 09/07/2003 00:05

Regaining

Honour your father and mother each day.

Show love to your brothers in every way.

Do no wrong to your fellow man

Live each day the best you can

Have Faith and Trust in your God above.

Live your life in peace and Love.

It doesnt sound much when you write it down.

So why do we find it so hard to live round.?

Living each day in this wordly struggle.

Getting lower and into a terrible muddle.

Distrusting everyone we meet.

Even those we just pass in the street.

Locking our doors and closing our minds

To others around no matter how kind.

Why are we like this I often ask.

Because living like this is no easy task.

We were born with love and trust in our hearts

But lost it somewhere on our earthly path.

Oh to be young and innocent again.

Not knowing distrust or hunger or pain.

But we can regain it if we only try.

By setting our spirits free to fly.

Letting them soar to the highest height.

To touch our God and imbibe the light.

It doesnt take much to achieve these things.

Or to enjoy the peace and hope that they bring.

To regain that innocence and trust of youth.

We only need to embrace Gods truth.

That life goes on, there is no Death.

We only "Die" to draw new breath.

In a place of love and light and truth.

And knowing only eternal youth.

So begin tomorrow with a brand new start.

Go forward with Love and hope in your heart.

Regain the honesty and innocence again.

And live each day as if in Gods domain.

Spreading Love and kindness in all you do

And finding inside the real "spiritual" YOU..

Bluesangel2002

Thank you CG.. i was afraid to put my poems here, but everyone seems to like them.

and as long as they touch people where it means most thats the main thing..

Thanks again.

God Bless

Bluesangel.

PostSubject: ONE LAST KISS   Poetry From SOC Members Icon_minitime06.11.08 22:32

From: bluesangel2002 Sent: 10/07/2003 02:40

ONE LAST KISS

One last kiss that you'll never forget,

Fore I go on my way, and leave no regrets.

My life has been long and full of love,

The bad times outweighed by the times of good.

All the things i've done of which i've made my peace,

Has given me a sense of sweet release.

I can go forward with my sorrows behind me,

with only the ties of love that bind me,

To this earth and those I must leave,

Letting my loved ones have time to grieve,

Before I return from the realms above.

To comfort you all with an eternal Love.

So kiss me and wish me well on my journey,

That i must make at the close of this day.

As I go to meet the destiny that is mine,

And our Father God will greet me with a Love Divine...

Silence

They say that silence is golden,
and while this may be true.
At times a silence in sorrow,
can be a great comfort too.
Times when words are hopeless,
and do not help at all.
When loving thoughts and kind deeds,
are the greatest help of all.
So, may we be united in silence,
and use the power of the mind.
to send love, light and healing,
for the sake of all Mankind...

NEW BORN

A new born Babe, a joy to behold,

Enriches your life more than silver or gold.

Gives you joy and love in the years to come,

As you watch them grow, like flowers in the sun.

In innocence they come for you to nourish,

And help them to develop and flourish.

A soul for you to teach right from wrong,

And help them sing their own life's song.

Teach them to be souls who are loving and caring,

To go thru' life with a sense of worth and sharing,

The light that shines in their eyes from within,

Will help this world to a new beginning.

Value each new born soul that you see,

And help it grow in light and fulfil its destiny.

To shine like the sun its whole life thru'

Shown the way by people like me and you..

SMILING

A sense of humour is one thing you need,

to survive in this world of hunger and greed.

To let you laugh at what life throws at you,

Even at your lowest and when feeling blue.

Cos if you can laugh at life and yourself,

it lifts your heart and gives you a wealth,

Lights up your face, puts a glow in your eyes,

Leaves no room for sad tears or sighs.

Makes you friends, enriches your days,

Helping to heal you in many different ways.

Can cheer up others who need it too,

As well as helping to cheer up you.

So use your humour every way that you can.

Spread the gift of laughter to your fellow man.

Making this world of ours a happier place.

Facing each day with a smile on your face...

Angel of Love

Oh angel of love come touch my heart,
help me to make a brand new start.
Get rid of all my doubts and fears,
give me confidence for my future years.
Fill my heart with eternal love,
with your feathery touch, as soft as a dove.
Let me fulfil all that I can be,
and help those others who cannot see.
That love is the way to live on earth,
to give every soul a sense of worth.
and help them value every day they live.
To spread the love that's Gods greatest gift.
Then sweet angel your work will be done.
and you can take your place by our Fathers throne...

NO FEAR

I have no fear of death,

Death has no fear for me.

‘Cos when I leave this earth,

My friends and family I’ll see.

My loved ones will be waiting,

With their arms open wide.

Smiles upon all their faces,

To greet me on the other side

I have more fear of living,

And what it holds for me.

‘Cos life can be so unforgiving,

I’m sure that you’ll agree.

But face this life I must,

With a smile and a brave face.

And lots of faith and trust,

In our Fathers God- given grace.

No I have no fear of death,

But my life I must go thru’.

Till I breathe my last breath,

And in Gods Light start anew...

From: ray Sent: 02/07/2005 15:51

WHEN I GO

When I go to meet my Maker, I want to go with a smile.

With hope in my heart and love as deep as a mile.

I want to leave warm memories with everyone I know.

For them to think of me with laughter, cos i love them so.

I want them to remember me, with no sorrow in their heart.

Knowing that in their future years i’ll always be a part.

I want no tears at that funeral of mine.

Only tears of joy, cos i am with my Lord Divine.

For them to speak of me with fondness, or a glint in their eye.

Not with sadness or sorrow, or with a depressed sigh.

Make my passing a happy one, with nothing there of sorrow.

For I am only going to the place where i’ll spend my tomorrow.

This is all I ask, when i leave this world behind.

That my loved ones rejoice, because Gods’ arms are open wide.

PostSubject: MY DAY OF REST.   Poetry From SOC Members Icon_minitime07.11.08 0:56

From: ray Sent: 02/07/2005 15:55

MY DAY OF REST.

It’s Sunday today, the day of rest.

I think that saying is just a jest.

We still have to look after our family,

Make breakfast, dinner and brew tea.

Make sure the children are all right.

The house is neat and tidy, not a messy sight.

Wash dishes, do laundry, and make the beds,

Just a normal day, this day of rest.

Then later on, just after five.

That’s when my day of rest comes alive.

I get ready for church, my time is my own.

I’m going to a place that’s a worry free zone.

I walk in the door and love surrounds me.

I sit down and let my troubles go free.

Feel the comfort and healing ingrained in the walls.

Let it envelop me and feel spirits call.

Listen to the prayers, and the lovely readings.

Hear the philosophy, sing songs of love and healing.

Then the demonstration when spirit friends draw near.

Using the medium to make their message clear.

Having a laugh or cry with the others there.

With the emotion overflowing, that we all share.

Feeling glad when someone gets proof from,

Someone they thought was dead and gone.

Then the closing prayer, and the final hymn.

Shake the mediums hand , and give thanks to Him.

Go to the tearoom for tea and a biscuit,

Have a nice chat with the others who visit.

Then go home feeling calm and uplifted,

At peace with the world and all that is in it.

My “day of rest” only lasts two or three hours.

But I thank God and Spirit and all their powers.

For being there for me each and every day,

Not just when I go to church on a Sunday.

I died from minerality and became vegetable;

And From vegetativeness I died and became animal.

I died from animality and became man.

Then why fear disappearance through death?

Next time I shall die

Bringing forth wings and feathers like angels;

After that, soaring higher than angels -

What you cannot imagine,

I shall be that.

My essence has been broken
my soul has been torn.
I'm left here in this torment,
broken and worn.

My concious keeps slipping,
into my haunting darkness.
I feel myself falling,
without your carress.

My hands are scarred and whethered
from the broken class, the mess.
I failed myself, I'm crying.
bleeding over this mess.

My heart is torn and broken,
shattered at your feet,
I'm falling as you walk on it,
walking out on me.

My voice screams in agony,
my body aches in pain,
I'm falling through the anguish,
slowly epically driving myself insane.

This smile is plastered to my face,
hiding the torment I have to bare
this smile is hiding the hideous tears,
I smile for you although you're no longer there.

My essence has been broken
my soul has been torn.
I'm left her in this torment,
broken and worn.

I wish I could turn back..
the hand of time..
I wish I could take back the tears,
the pain..
you'd still be mine..

I wish that the sorrows..
would dispear like a teardrop as it falls...
I wish I could find the strength to smile again..
remembering your late night calls..

I wish I could lift my head..
and stand apon my feet...
I wish the times would just erase,
leaving only you and me..

I wish that these tearsdrops..
would finally cease to fall...
I wish that my heart would medn back together..
and I could finally stand tall..

I wish that each smile...
on your face was sent to me...
I wish I could forget these thoughts..
and savor ever memory..

I wish I could turn back..
the hand of time..
I wish I could take back the tears,
the pain..
you'd still be mine..

The moon shines in my body, but my blind eyes cannot see it:
The moon is within me, and so is the sun.
The unstruck drum of Eternity is sounded within me; but my deaf ears cannot hear it.

So long as man clamours for the I and the Mine, his works are as naught:
When all love of the I and the Mine is dead, then the work of the Lord is done.
For work has no other aim than the getting of knowledge:
When that comes, then work is put away.

The flower blooms for the fruit: when the fruit comes, the flower withers.
The musk is in the deer, but it seeks it not within itself: it wanders in quest of grass.

My dearest friend
While you slept I heard you call
So I came and sat beside you
Offering comfort love and warmth
I saw your tears and felt your fears
Twas then Gently I leaned over
And whispered in your ear
Hold my hand and know I'm here
All you had to do was ask.

My child before you were born
You choose a special Angel friend
Who would always walk with you
I am that Angel friend you choose
Who's breath you feel upon your cheeks
So when trouble overtakes you
And you feel that you cant cope
Remember that I am here for you
Reach out my friend with open heart
Softly call my name
For I am but a breathe away
Very gently will I enfold you
In my wings all soft and warm.

Hold you safe and tell you
You are God's Perfect Child.
That it's all part of the plan
Together we can face the night
Where in your darkest hour
You feel that you are vulnerable
Yet you are a Shining Star
Dry your tears now my precious one
Dont fear to go to sleep
I am there and waiting
When next that we shall meet
And when you feel that gentle breeze
That blows upon your cheek
Close your eyes and think of me
Your choosen Angel Friend from above

Sleep well child and know that you are safe wrapped in the warmth of Angels Wings and the Love of the Angels Breath

I love the images in this one ...

In Blackwater Woods

Look, the trees
are turning
their own bodies
into pillars

of light,
are giving off the rich
fragrance of cinnamon
and fulfillment,

the long tapers
of cattails
are bursting and floating away over
the blue shoulders

of the ponds,
and every pond,
no matter what its
name is, is

nameless now.
Every year
everything
I have ever learned

in my lifetime
leads back to this: the fires
and the black river of loss
whose other side

is salvation,
whose meaning
none of us will ever know.
To live in this world

you must be able
to do three things:
to love what is mortal;
to hold it

against your bones knowing
your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go.

I'm not sure whether this is a poem or not but its lovely and something I believe true..

Your children are not your children.

They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.

They come through you but are not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts.

For they have their own thoughts.

You may house their bodies but not their souls,

For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, nor even in your dreams.

you may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.

For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.

Kahil Gibran

The beauty of the heart
is the lasting beauty:
its lips give to drink
of the water of life.
Truly it is the water,
that which pours,
and the one who drinks.
All three become one when
your talisman is shattered.
That oneness you can't know
by reasoning...

I think and I could be off on this everyone goes through periods where they feel kind of lost . This is about enlightenment to me . What do you think?

We have waited all night for you, and now the dawn is come.

We have waited all night for you, and now the dawn is come.
From distant places we came — there can be no returning home.

We know it is the morning because of the dawn's cool fingers
Upon our hot eyelids, and we can hear her sweet singers.

We cannot be sure now whether it was our own yearning
That expected you, or you promised — it matters not in this burning.

Neither have we your brightness, nor will we behold the new day —
We lost our eyes in the darkness and are adrift on tears' waves' way.

Blind witless wretches whose song the wind carries with the seagull's cry;
Bold fellows brave enough to leave home, but not daring enough to die.

Still, we are wrapped in a glory to all other men denied;
We once touched the hem of your dress — that is our spirits pride.

What is it to us that somewhere the world's sun will presently rise —
Sometime this darkness of nowhere will be lit by the light of your eyes”.

I thought you all might enjoy this as its winter in part of the world. This poem makes me think of heaven however you might see it.

Because the flowers blooming
In our original home
Are everlasting,
Though springtimes may come and go
Their colors do not fade.

Here is another poem this one eastern . The intimacy of therelationship with spirit/god is very different at least to me than the traditions I was raised in . The images are beautiful..

The Dulllard sage

Lost in myself
I reappeared
I know not where
a drop that rose
from the sea and fell
and dissolved again;
a shadow
that stretched itself out
at dawn,
when the sun
reached noon
I disappeared.
I have no news
of my coming
or passing away--
the whole thing
happened quicker
than a breath;
ask no questions
of the moth.
In the candle flame
of his face
I have forgotten
all the answers.
In the way of love
there must be knowledge
and ignorance
so I have become
both a dullard
and a sage;
one must be
an eye and yet
not see
so I am blind
and yet I still
perceive,
Dust
be on my head
if I can say
where I
in bewilderment
have wandered:
Attar
watched his heart
transcend both worlds
and under its shadow
now is gone mad
with love

Farid ud-Din Attar

I thought it might be fun to post something spiritual each day so if you have any thoughts or comments on it please reply..

I know about love the way the fields know about light,
the way the forest shelters, the way an animal's divine raw desire seeks to unite with
whatever might please its soul - without a single strange thought of remorse.
there is a powerful delegation in us that lobbies every moment for contentment.
how will you ever find peace
unless you yield to love
the way the gracious earth does to our hand's impulse

Rabia
